Shellie Hageman Girls Cross Country Varsity Head Coach more details

Shellie Hageman has been the Head Girls Cross Country Coach since 2000. In addition to coaching Cross Country, she has been the Head Girls Track and Field coach for the past 3 years and was an assistant Track coach for 8 years.  During those years, Shellie has coached a two time individual state champion, had a team place 6th at state, and has won 2 league and district titles and one Regional title.  Along with her husband, they founded the OHYA track and field program in the Oak Hills district that provides opportunities for athletes to compete in track and field in grades K-6. 

Coach Hageman is an Oak Hills High School alumni and was inducted into the athletic Hall of Fame in 2013. Collegiately, she competed for the University of Cincinnati in both Track and Field and Cross Country.

Coach Hageman teaches at Springmyer Elementary as a Physical Education teacher. She was a Special Education teacher for 14 years. She lives in the Oak Hills district with her husband Ben and and their three daughters, Julia (19), Annabelle (17), and Josie Bea (11).

Bill Schroer is entering his 7th season as Varsity head coach of the Highlanders and is a proud graduate from Oak Hills.  He is the first former Highlander to be named head coach for the boys program.  He started coaching at the varsity level as an assistant in 1999 and has been involved with three westside high school programs since his start.  Overall coaching experience is over 25 years, with (16+) years at the varsity level as both a Varsity Head and Assistant Coach.  He is also a long time club coach on the West Side of Cincinnati.

In 2020, Bill was named GMC coach of the year, Southwest Ohio Public School Coach of the Year and led the Highlanders to the district final for the first time since 1986!

He is married to Lynn and has two boys Nicholas (19) and Michael (16).  Bill has an engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati and works as an application engineer in the machine tool industry.

Nick Continenza Boys Cross Country Head Coach more details

Nick Continenza graduated from the University of Akron in 2007 with a bachelor's degree qualifying him to teach high school science.  While at the University of Akron, he competed on the track and field team as a decathlete, where he earned All-Mid American Conference honors four times.  Nick began his track and field coaching career in 2006 and his cross country coaching career in 2010. Before arriving at Oak Hills, he coached at Chardon High School and Cleveland Heights High School.  Nick joined the Highlanders in 2015. He is currently the head boys cross country coach and head boys track & field coach. On the track and field staff, Nick currently coaches the sprint, hurdle, relay and jump athletes.  Nick’s favorite track event is the 4x400m relay and his favorite field event is pole vault.

Coach Roden is a seasoned football coach with 24 years of experience, recognized for his leadership and achievements at both high school and collegiate levels. His coaching career is highlighted by his tenure at East Central High School, where he led the team to a 4A state championship in 2017, secured three regional championships, a state runner-up finish, and claimed five Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference (EIAC) championships. His outstanding leadership earned him the Indiana Football Coaches Association 4A Coach of the Year award in 2017, along with five EIAC Coach of the Year titles.

Coach Roden began his coaching career as a defensive coordinator for the Highlanders from 2006 to 2008, later becoming the head coach at Noblesville High School and East Central High School in Indiana. His coaching prowess extended to Colerain High School, where he served as a defensive backs coach for five years, contributing to the 2004 state championship season. He also held the position of associate head coach at Mount Healthy High School and was the special teams coordinator for the College of Mount St. Joseph.

During his seven years at East Central, Coach Roden guided the team to 35 victories and three consecutive regional championships, milestones that marked the school's history. His experience spans a range of school sizes and competitive levels, reflecting his adaptability and expertise. Now in his fifth year as head coach of the Highlanders, he was named the 2022 GMC Coach of the Year, leading Oak Hills to nine GMC wins and consecutive 5-5 regular-season records over the last two seasons.

A 1995 graduate of Colerain High School, Coach Roden went on to earn a degree from Mount St. Joseph College in 2000, where he was a four-year letter winner and team captain. He holds a master's degree in Educational Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University and currently serves as the Assistant Dean of Students at Oak Hills High School.

Coach Roden has been married to his wife Jennifer for 25 years, and they are proud parents of two children, JT (20) and Hailey (22).

Teri Egbers is the Girls' Varsity Golf Coach.  She has been the head varsity coach since 2016.   She was the Oak Hills Middle School Girls' golf coach for 4 years & the Bridgetown Middle School Boys' golf coach prior to moving to varsity. The goal of Oak Hills Girls Golf is to inspire young ladies to learn and enjoy the sport of golf and its diverse athletic and emotional challenges and successes. Building comradery & self-esteem is foremost, while improving golf skills. Teri is an Oak Hills Alum who lives, works & coaches in Oak Hills. She is the counselor at Bridgetown Middle School and has been in education since 1995.  She and her husband, Dan, have 4 children who share their love of Oak Hills, academic success and sports.

Coach Spraul is a 2007 graduate of Oak Hills High School.  He played club soccer growing up and played at Oak Hills.  Coach Spraul went on to play four years in college at both Urbana University (NAIA) and Thomas More University (D3).  He is a 2011 graduate from Thomas More University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management.  Coach Spraul works at Oak Hills High School in the credit recovery program, and is the Executive Director of the Cincinnati West Soccer Club.  

Coach Spraul has been coaching youth soccer for over 10 years and began his successful, winning high school coaching career at Oak Hills.  He started at Oak Hills in 2012 as the JVB Women's Soccer Head Coach.  You can see his high school coaching resume below:

Coach Pearson is a 2016 Graduate of Oak Hills, where he was a 4-year varsity player.  He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in business.  This is his 5th year coaching within Oak Hill’s athletics, previously coaching the middle school's tennis team for 3 years.

Coach McCarthy is a 2016 graduate of Oak HIlls where she was a member of the volleyball team.  As a player, Coach McCarthy was a 4 year Varsity player and received 1st team GMC as a junior and senior. Coach McCarthy has followed her passion for volleyball and is currently the assistant director for CYVBC Surge. She has 5 years of experience coaching at the National and Open levels with Surge before joining us at Oak Hills. Coach McCarthy brings a wealth of excitement and enthusiasm for the sport of volleyball and has a passion for Oak Hills!
