On Friday, the boys varsity basketball team was on the road going up against Fairfield. This was their second matchup this year as the first one was an Oak Hills win. In the first quarter the Highlanders came out to hold Fairfield to only 1 point and took an early 7-1 lead. At the end of the third quarter the Highlanders held a 31-24 lead, and had a big fourth quarter scoring 15 points to top off Fairfield 46-37. Jacob Berkemeier finished with a huge game of 21 points and 6 rebounds. Zach Moeller also played a great game with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals. Their record is now 12-6 overall and 9-3 in the GMC. The Highlanders have 4 games left as they look to finish out the season strong. The next game is home on Tuesday, February 5, at 7:30 pm vs Sycamore.
