Need a reason to smile today? This.is.it!

Thanks to Joey's mom, Emily, for sharing this note with us. Read on...

Dear Coach Price,

I wanted to thank you so much for having your team participate in the Special Olympics Ohio basketball event at Harrison High School today (2/21).

My son, Joey Clayton, has been looking forward to this event for quite some time. One of the main reasons why he wanted to participate in this event was not only because of his love for the game but also for the love of the Oak Hills High School Oak Hills Boys Basketball team. Your boys always make a point to say hi to him or to give him a high five or to ask how his day is going. They may not think that those actions are a big deal, but to him, it means the world. He was over the moon today that he got to play basketball with his favorite team! One would think that his favorite team would be an NBA team or a college team, but nope, his favorite team is the Oak Hills Highlanders.

The boys took time with him today to work on his basketball skills as well as just "hang out" with him and it made his day, week, .... it might have even made his year!

If you could, please let your players know how thankful we are for their kindness and for just letting Joey be Joey. This day meant more to him than they will ever know. You have some really great kids on your team and we wish you all the best of luck in the tournament.

Thanks again,
Emily & Joey Clayton
