Jackie Cornelius Varsity Head Coach cornelius-bedel_j@ohlsd.org more details

Jackie has been teaching and coaching varsity softball since 2006. On top of a D1 collegiate career, she competed professionally in the states, as well as abroad. Prior to coming to Oak Hills, she taught in Three Rivers Local School District and coached at Mount Notre Dame High School.

Throughout her coaching career she has been named Coach of the year multiple times (GMC/GGCL) as well as Southwest Coach of the Year, Reds High School Softball Coach of the Year and Enquirer Coach of the Year. In the spring of 2024, Jackie surpassed her 300th career win. 

Jackie currently owns D1 Catching Academy where she trains catchers from around the Tri-state. She graduated from Cleveland State University in 2005 with a Bachelor's of Arts, and has a Master's Degree (+30) from the University of New England.

Jackie is a 2012 Oak Hills Hall of Fame Inductee and is a 2001 graduate of Oak Hills High School, where she was a three sport varsity letter winner. Jackie has two children, Kameron and Kennedy who are both active in the community. Jackie and her family reside in Bridgetown.

This will be my 4th year coaching softball at Oak Hills. I played competitive softball for many years and won 3 Metro City Championships. I have  coached basketball for 40 years, the last 8 years as the head coach at DePaul Cristo Rey High School. We won the OCSAA State Championship in 2020. I have 3 kids- two who graduated from Oak Hills (Sean & Brett) and 3 grandkids.

Rick Cornelius is in his 18th season as a varsity coach. He’s coached at Oak Hills and Mount Notre Dame during that time. He has coached youth football for almost two decades and was inducted into the Bridgetown Youth Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

Rick retired from Duke Energy after 36 years and helps coordinate/maintain the field for the Highlanders. Rick and his wife, Sue graduated from Oak Hills 1981 and still live in Bridgetown.

All 3 of his children were Oak Hills grads (01, 03, 04). Rick’s 6 grandchildren (Kam, Kennedy, Max, Eli, Beckett & Marley) who are all active around the Oak Hills community.

This will be my 9th year coaching Softball at Oak Hills HS.  I played 8 years of Men's Fastpitch Softball for teams out of Orrville, Kidron, and Wooster Ohio - finishing ASA National Runner-Up once.  The West Side has been my home for 20+ years along with my wife Tiffany, son Bailey (Oak Hills grad), and daughter Ella.

Mattison Fisher Varsity Assistant Coach more details

This will be Mattison’s 1st year coaching softball for Oak Hills. She has given individual softball lessons for around seven years to girls from elementary school to high school. She’s a 2023 graduate from Thomas More University where she played softball and started in over 100 games. Mattison was awarded scholar athlete by the NAIA for three of her four years. Mattison was also a standout Centerfielder during her time at Oak Hills where she was a four year varsity player, two time first team gmc recipient, two time defensive player and captain her senior year. She has been playing softball since she was seven years old. She is now back in the district teaching at C.O. Harrison as an intervention specialist.

Kam McCool Program Pitching Coach more details

Kamryn McCool recently graduated from Mount St. Joseph University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She is now teaching in the Oak Hills school district. Kamryn competed at the collegiate level playing both softball for 4 years and basketball for 2. She earned many accolades. Some of these include: most career strikeouts,most strikeouts in a game,conference tournament MVP and 2nd team all region. Kamryn and her MSJ softball team have won 3 conference tournaments, 1 Regional tournament, and made it to the Super Regional Tournament along with accomplishing many team goals as well. Kamryn attended Franklin County High School where she was a three sport athlete.

Rachel Gabbard JV Head Coach more details

Rachel Gabbard recently graduated from Mount St. Joseph University in May of 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She is now teaching at Oak Hills High School as an Intervention Specialist. Rachel played collegiate softball at MSJ, where she was a four year starter at first base. She was named to the Conference All-Tournament Team in 2021, All-Conference Team in 2021 and 2022, and Team Captain in 2022. Rachel and her MSJ softball team have won 2 conference tournaments, 1 Regional tournament, and made it to the Super Regional Tournament. Rachel attended Highlands High School in Fort Thomas, KY and was a 6 year starter for the varsity softball team.

Liz Holzinger JV Assistant Coach more details

Liz Holzinger is a 2001 grad from Harrison High School who was a standout athlete lettering in 3 sports during her time as a Wildcat. Although she is new to coaching at the high school level she brings years of playing experience as well as coaching at the youth level. Liz's husband, Mike is an Oak Hills Alumni as well as a middle school football coach for the Highlanders. Liz and her husband have  two sons (Emmett and Mikey) who both attend schools in OHLSD and are both active in sports. Lis and her family reside in Bridgetown.
